|Life: An Evolving Adventure
I just heard some really good news from a friend and felt so lifted up to celebrate with her own response -- relief, joyful, grateful beyond measure that a possible health challenge turned out to be nothing. It made me recognize just how powerful are the connections we experience with others -- and how interesting the ways these connections manifest! I also read a blog by Cheryl Richardson, one of my favorite inspirational writer/speaker/coach people about a Ted.com talk that she had been listening to where the speaker referenced the concept of mirroring -- that is, in listening to someone tell a story or speak about something they are emotionally involved with, those in the audience actually mirror (in some mystical neuronal alchemy that happens in the brain) what the speaker is feeling. Not just thinking, but feeling! How amazing is that!!? It made me think about our physiological and chemical response to music about which we feel strong emotion, that it floods our brain and body with endorphins and makes us feel good. You've heard of runner's high -- well this is singer's high, I guess :) This works whether or not we are actually involved in creating the music or simply listening to it. I'm fascinated by these interconnections and mysteries of being human. It is awesome and humbling at the same time.
I am a singer, a writer, a craftswoman, a student of life and of Spirit, a wife, a friend, an inquisitive adventurer on the learning path. Seeking, sensing, sifting and now connecting! Please join the fun by leaving a comment or passing on a favorite post via your social network. As you can tell from the category list, my interests are varied and somewhat eclectic. I am seeking all that brings joy & excitement to life, purpose & passion to our daily round. I am curious about pretty much everything.
